Has anyone had deep root nerve injection's before? :? I'm
scheduled for it next thursday. I have to have swabs taken
tomorrow for MRSA too, apparently it's now policy to have
it done before any procedures.

Not heard of Deep Root? But if it's for your back then it might be the same as Facet Joint Injections. I can't lie to you, it's the most painful experience of my life. I cried like a little baby, sobbed my heart out.

My daughter had the procedure, and swore never again! The pain was terrible she claimed, and then it slowly vanished and she's had no further trouble.
Prior to that she was in a wheel chair so it seems worthwhile.
The consultants have given up on mine!

Roy.

Usually - this is for teeth, am I right?

I had a deep root injection on my front tooth yeeeeears ago. Still remember it every time I brush my teeth (In a good way!)

It's fine, so long as you're not a wuss? Usual injection into gum, remove dead tooth parts, inset anti-bacterial plug (mine was pink - tastes like strong toothpaste), temporary filling, back a couple of days later, new injection, filling out, new plug in, new - permanent - filling.

It's for my neck  , so i'm having at C7 i think. :?
If it takes the pain away in my neck and right shoulder
then they will operate, otherwise i'm up the creek and
will have increasing pain until i pop my clogs.
The worst injection i've had was for an ingrown toe
nail removal.....TWICE  now that was painful.

Before my spine op I had 4 injections in my spine. I was able to watch the needle go into my spine on the X ray. I have to say it was totally painless.

They did mine without any pain relief. They said they put anaesthetic in the local area but clearly not nearly enough. I felt the needle go all the way down and when it got into the joint I had to be held down by 4 nurses. Like a mug, I went through that twice

Well today was the big day.
I never felt a thing when the procedure was done, 5 mins
later i was completely pain free :D :D :D , even if this lasted
for only 5 minutes i would have been happy as they can now
operate. I've been great all day even tidied #1 workshop up
(the turning shop) \:D/ and tomorrow i'll hopefully get #2 and
#3 shops tidied  I've saturday earmarked for turning the
lathe on if it still runs  , it's been at least a year :( .
Although i've only used it 3 or 4 times since i bought it about
4 years ago. I can have more injections so if i have to wait
for an op i can still be pain free 8) 8) 8) .

Many thanks Martin and Roy, if it was'nt for forums
like this and the people who post i don't know what
i would have done. Life can be so frustrating when
you want to do things and it's physically impossible
to do it. Next thing to sort will be the Insomnia.

Great news on the injections Kevin, glad you can now get in the workshop again, all the best for the future.

Regards

Steve :)

Glad it seems to have worked, marra, hope it lasts :D

If you get the lathe fired up,might need to bring you some more timber when I get round to dropping your badge off..
