Ordered a new motor for my ressurected union jubilee, but cannot wait so I had to pop over a friends house to use his lathe.
I am still very much a novice only having turned about 5 items totally. But I thought I would dare to show the latest item that I have produced.

Also I am very proud of my 2nd bowl turned as I made it for my mother-in-law in memory of her father. It was going to be their present, but as things transpired I decided to make a plate for it and sink into bottom of bowl. Hardest bit was the removal of the wood for the brass plate. So just had to to put it here also...

Wow, not too bad for a novice!!!

Undercutting forms, and turning large items! Anyway, both look very nice.

What wood is lidded pot?

Definately not yew. Couldn't tell you what it is though!

I'm guessing something exotic...
