Hi all,
I've cut a box out of a log of willow today and am wondering what finish to use. It's quite rustic looking with a nice bit of pattern in the grain so I don't want anything too dark, but the wood itself is very light so needs a little something to enhance the overall appearance.
I might have a little go at Pyrography on this one too. I never done any before but think I need a bit of detail on the lid. I assume that you do the burning first and then apply the finish over it?
I'll post some pics later to help with ideas. The lid piece still has the bark on and the box has a twisted look to it as I kept the shape of the log when cutting it down. I have some clear varnish but thought it may deserve a little more.
Thanks in advance.
