Hi guys, I picked up some worktop that used to be in a local university, two 4 metre lengths which I was told were walnut. When I got there the tops are clearly made of several types of wood. I know it's a longshot but can anybody shed some light on what they may be? If this picture is pants I can try and get a better one. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks

I’m no expert, but the darker strips look like walnut to me. Maybe some idigbo as well?

You could make some really lovely bread boards by cross-cutting, off-setting the timber and laminating so the end-grain is facing up.

Good luck.
