Hi

Well have found some nice draw pulls which are old looking brass hooded type but don,t think they come with screws
Anyone know where i can get brass screws that look old :?
It may seem a strange question but new screws are gonna look ..........well new !!!!!

Thanks for your help

Marty

This is not a joke, you can age brass by immersing in horses urine. I have done this when ageing some brass fittings for a vintage car. It may be that it is high in ammonia. I was lucky to have a local stable nearby and a stable lad that knew what to do.

There are many chemical recipes for antiquing or patinating brass.

Don't have any to hand but they should be easy to find in library or internet.

A way I do it is to get a plastic container and fill it with saw dust ( should not be to hard to do  )

Get some ammonia ( polishing suppliers will do it ) and pore some in to the saw dust.

Then place the screws in it head down so you can find them and leave for a day but keep an eye on them as you might find you dont have much left
