Hi,
We have a kitchen wooden kitchen worktop that had a spillage which took off the coating of tung oil. We sanded it and then re-coated with the tung oil but it has left dark stains in the affected areas. Any help on getting the stained areas back to looking like the original worktop would be greatly appreciated. Photos attached.

It will fade with time, it’s just newly exposed wood that hasn’t been bleached by the sun. Over time, it will usually fade into the same shade as everywhere else.

Thank you. Where we have applied the tung oil to the newly exposed areas, the finish appers matt and not glossy like everywhere else. Will we need to re sand and re apply oil ?

Yep, Tung builds up the sheen with how many coats you give it, assuming it’s pure Tung oil your using.
