I have seen some interesting books on Fleabay, Custom Woodworking series, by Glen Ru.
So i have bought a couple, one on tool station building and another on shop built jigs etc.
Any one familiar with this Author?
At around £6 each, these are from me to me, happy Chrimble Rodders.
I woz also wondering what other members had bought for themselves, ending with "Happy Christmas to me"?
Regards Rodders

Not strictly wood oriented* but a new Front tyre for my bike. Most expensive tyre I've ever bought @ 60 quid
Merry Christmas to me!

*But I do have to wheel it back and forth to use either the lathe or the tablesaw.

That sounds pretty expensive, My kawasaki Bridgestones are £140 for the front and £160 for the back, I get about 4-4500 miles,
but that's a motorbike, not necessary, like yours. Regards Rodders

My bike has an engine too (VT500), its just the most Ive ever spent on tyre  I've never kept a bike long enough to wear out tyres before. The ones I really wanted were 140 +vat each but I couldnt bring myself to spend that much on a tyre because I liked the look of it, and performance is probably pants too!

Sorry to Hijack the thread

I have 2 lovely shiney new blades from cutting solutions.

I ordered them on behalf of my wife so she could give them to me for Christmas.

When they arrived she said that she had already got me plenty to open on Christmas day so I might as well have the blades now.

That is definately happy Chistmas to me

My little present to myself

Suppose I better get out and buy my wife a Christmas card now lol

Not really. I know my wife is buying me a homebrew kit, so I guess that is 'Happy Christmas to me'. I'm tempted to buy the screwdriver bit set on offer from Axminster today.

I have bought a bunch of new saws and a new jacket for climbing, but TBH, I'd've bought them anyway christmas or not.

I'm picking up my pressie to me on 27th, an Axi AT1628VS lathe. (the missus wanted a new range cooker for herself, so no conscience here).

Interesting reading Folks. I don't usually have a big wish list for christmas as I am lucky enough to be able to have what i want through the year.
Socks, chocolates yacht etc Regards Rodders

Same here, actually, but it was a birthday present to myself. More coincidence than extravagant gift!

Don't really do Christmas if I can help it. I hate it!

However, I did buy the Blackadder remastered DVD box set from Tesco last night :D

I picked this up last week I decided to spoil myself, but I also landed myself with one hell of a restoration project
Maybe it will be finished by next Christmas
