Handsaw Maker Information

Could any of you fine folks give me a hand with some information on a saw that I just picked up.

The makers mark states as follows:

S. Biggin & Sons
America Works
Sheffield
Cast Steel

4.5 tpi

Lambs tongue handle

about 26" long

Straight back

Crosscut saw

The 1857 directory for Sheffield lists S. Biggin & sons. Saw, scythe &co makers, Portland Street, Sheffield.
Portland Street in Sheffield is still in existence and is just off the A61 trunk road. This area had many small manufacturing works in the mid to late 1800s.
Later today, I'll try to find out further information since I have relations living in the area.
