Hi
as a new member - a few details about who and what i am
As a Training Manager, I have spent my entire working life working with metals
at home, most of my 'working' time was spent with wood (around the home)
Now I am well into my retirement, my wife is no longer here and my time is being filled with a myriad of things
I have a large block of oak (I love oak) needed to replace some timber on which a garden parasol is mounted
I have lengths of T&G shiplap, to repair the walls of my workshop
I have just purchased a classic motorcycle which needs to be stripped and rebuilt
I have come into possession of a Perform bench bandsaw . .for free

I now need to get on and do something

Hi Welcome What part of Essex you in as have a couple of friends that are very useful one up in Clacton ran own business designing and making furniture.
Other Near southend that is City in Guilds Cert and makes all sorts

Thanks, I'm between the two, in Chelmsford.

I must admit to being a bit worried about the way I am accumulating machines
My workshop won't cope with many more.
I just can't watch working kit being thrown away

@Janner suggest you set your sights on one job, rather than flitting between jobs.
(One of those 'do as I say, not as I do' bits of advice ;-) .
Well . . . . . .the bike is a long term (winter) project
The T&G shiplap needs to be used sooner rather than later, my workshop may get damp
The oak can be done anytime

I didn't mention that I also have fence panels to spray before winter.

I promise I'll try to concentrate

Did I mention my sons kitchen?

Janner. From Plymouth, I presume?
Well . . .no, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and lately, Essex

Corruption of my 2nd christian name, but, I have spent many happy days at Devonport, with, amongst others, CPO WEA 'Steve' Austin and CPO 'Jimmy' Rimmer.

It's a Royal Navy thing.
