Broke my ankle on a simple trip over a door frame... result leg in plaster for 4 - 6 weeks, doc says I shall be unable to put any weight on it at all for at least 4 weeks... so on crutches.
How difficult everything has become doing it on crutches.... can make a cup of tea but unable to carry it from kitchen to my chair in the living room! Unable to do any work in my garage ... cant even get to it as its down some steps and through two doors! WIP lying on my bench, by the time I am able to work on it again I shall have forgot where I have got to! Frantically trying to remember what I may have left on the bench that may need some attention.. asked wife to have a look for me ... why is she doubled up with laughter!

Sorry to read about your accident. Hope it mends well.

I broke my leg playing squash a good few years back. Nasty rotational fractures of the tib and fib. Anyhow it was in late November - steel plates, plaster, crutches, leg raised to drain of fluids etc.

Best Xmas I've had in a long while :ho2 All done for me  My dear wife was so pi55ed off with me.

+1 sorry.
Nowhere near as bad as yours but I'll need a small knee operation in a couple of weeks and will have to stay off it for a few weeks. As my wife is a former theatre sister, I will be well and truly grounded. I've decided to read all those books an watch woodworking videos that I haven't been able to get around to. Even bought a couple of Wearing's books ready!

Sympathies. I fell in April last year and spent the summer on crutches with a knee brace. Torn ligament, torn cartilage, broken bone). The orthotist said she hoped I'd be back to normal within a year. It's taken a little longer than that, but pretty much OK now, just a bit slower than I was.

It's very frustrating but it does get better, honest!

Last time I had my arm in plaster it was my left so it wasn't to bad but having your food cut up and you shoe laces tied was.

I took it off my self after 3 weeks as it felt fine and I was extremely bored.
