The original question was how do Scheppach manage to fit a grooving blade on their machines legally?

I believe its well worth doing a search of previous forum postings. This has been discussed in depth before... the gist of it seems that arbours are allowed to be longer than the a single skinny blade thickness, and it's the 10 second stop time that stops manufacturers using heavier blades (i.e. Dado heads). I think the Scheppach isn't actually a "dado" blade, just seems to have wide tips so provides a trenching ability with a spacing facility. Perhaps contact NMA direct and ask? (they are UK inporters)

Urm, yes? At least until I can get round to sharpening up the #46's cutters. Not always of course, but it's a lot more fun than the accursed tailed router and I've got to justify them all somehow...

Incidently, my Xcaliber stops easily within 10 secs but DOESNT have a brake. We've timed it and it stops within 5 secs, a tad longer with the dado in.

You know they're easier to use if your hands are free and unencumbered... I won't go into the likely strain injuries of having a foot in both camps. :lol:
