Yes, you have my sympathies, also. I live up in the Pennines only a few hundred feet below the watershed and well up the side of a valley, but we've still had some small floods up here today which is quite unusual.

Someone was moaning to me that a local road was flooded again.
"Its global warming etc etc, thats the third time in 3 years, rant rant, what are THEY going to do about it "

"Actually" sez I "when you an old git like me you will find it has been happening for years, nothing new" . " "Also the name of the lane might give you a clue".

Nothing this year, but last year our home in Massachusetts had a flood in the basement - enough to wipe out the boiler and hot water heater. Still, we were lucky as houses and businesses on lower ground a mile away were up to their rooflines in water after the Merrimack river broke its banks...

Our hosepipe ban has been lifted! Yes, I live in Surrey....
