I was recently looking for a small portable dust extractor for site use and to be used primarily with my Festool TS55 plunge saw in mind. I finally bit the bullet and went for the Festool Midi, and during my research liked the idea of the Dust Deputy, and being able to replace plastic bags which would be cheaper than the Festool bags..
Both arrived today, and I thought I would just give my feedback should anyone be interested in either system.
I was happy with how easy it was to swap over the hoses and everything needed to connect both systems was included with the Dust Deputy Ultimate.
My main concern was connecting the Dust Deputy onto the Midi, as had seen issues with the latches and the need to cut out slots. Oneida who produce the Dust Deputy have obviously addressed these issues and they click together without any modifications required.
To summarise there was only about ten minutes of work putting together the Dust Deputy out of the box, and they integrate fine. My only niggle as others have commented, was having to attach the gaskets to the lid and top of the Dust Deputy...not a big issue though.
I now need to earn some ££££ to justify to my Mrs why this was a must purchase (hammer)
Hope this is of some use.
Cheers,
Scott
