dust filter

I am building a dust filter above my lathe and am having trouble getting the filter material for it. I need about a sq metre. Anyone know where I can purchase this. I don't think cooker hood filter material will be good enough.

Hi Alex,

I`ve used cooker hood filter material for the initial filtering, though i`ve folded it so it`s double thickness & find it works very well judging by the amount of dust that collects on it. I use a fine filter bag after this initial filtering to collect the really small particles.

Each of these have filters as spares. Even if the wrong size the filter material could perhaps be removed & reused.

Aldi sell cooker hood filter material from time to time. I buy a couple of packs every time they have them on offer.

After being stung with the costs of replacing my microclean filters I searched around and now use Paint Spray Booth filter. The only problem being the initial cost, most you have to buy in a 20m roll. Unless you know a friendly paint sprayer.
