Hi guys,
years and years ago when I got my table saw I wanted to be able to cut dado's just like Norm does on NYW. I found some dado cutters in machine mart but they were not compatible with braked saw's. I found out that all saws in the Eu had to be braked so I was under the impression that no one in the UK with a UK bought machine could cut dado's.

Was I right or wrong and is it or isn't it still the case?

Many thanks in advance,

Cheers, Si

If your saw is braked DO NOT use a dado blade on it!

Personally I think they are dangerous as guards have to be removed - There are safer ways of doing things than the Norm way!

Xcalibur and Deft Saw can be fitted with them. I have the xcalibur and occasionally use a dado cutter in it, but to be honest make yourself a decent dado jig for your router and its far quicker to set up. Also safer....

One of the reasons for my new router table build is to do safe dado cuts but the question came up on an American forum so I thought I would ask here.

Thanks for the replies.

Cheers,Si
