Hi

I have had a scroll saw sitting in my workshop unused for the past 10+ years, I bought it as a 'bargain' thinking it would get some use in the future. It's a Record Power Scroll 20 and up until now I've used it about a dozen times - time to change this I think.

I've decided to build myself a longcase clock from scratch and it would seem obvious to use the scroll saw to cut the plates / cross out the wheels etc.

What sort of blades do I need to purchase and from who would you recommend?

Hi Mick. If I were in your shoes I would contact Mike of Mikes workshop. If you explain what you want to do he will sort out the blades that you need. Mike is the leading authority on blade choice and he is always very helpful with specific needs etc.

I use his blades on my Hegner for crossing out the gear wheels:
