Courier for delivering smaller furniture items

I have some smaller furniture items that I need to deliver within the UK via a courier.

They are not high end pieces, so not looking for high end people.

Things like beside tables, will be something like 80cm x 50cm x 50cm, a few kilos each - exact sizes not agreed yet, but these are good estimates for shipping purposes.

I've looked at parcel2go etc., but I get quotes £28 onwards to £70+. Now, maybe this is what you have to pay for larger items - do others have experience with others who can deliver for less?

Have you tried Hermes?

Thanks - parcel is too large for myHermes and Collect+ (both of which I can drop off very locally to me!).

And sorry forgot to say I don't think that myHermes insures (or carry? not sure) constructed furniture, only flat pack too.
