Interesting Phil, thanks !

For those who like this art, take a look at the back catalogue of retired bladesmith Gerhard Wieland. Stunning work.
Take inspiration now as there's no guarantee that the website will remain up in the long term.

Can't get anywhere with that one. I had hoped to have room for a small forge/metal working room when we moved house, but we lost so much money on the last one it was not to be.
I spent some time a few years ago with a blacksmith who made stunning blades, but for one reason and another we lost touch. I would have liked to have worked with him more closely, as his blades were let down by poor handle, and I was into silver work and dichroic glass. He forged blades with all manner of unusual laminations - he did one with chainsaw chains embedded, it was stunning. If anyone ever needed marketing advice, it was him.
I have however permission from the domestic controller to build a forge in the back garden, so long as I design it that it'll double as a barbecue. It won't be until late in the year, though. :D
