I have an Axminster White 1/2" collet router that I normally use in my router table, but the shaft now has a small amount of play in it and I was wondering whether this is a problem that you can easily remedy yourself?

Thanks

Hi

Does yours wobble or is it floppy? My first router, a B&Q Macallister 1/2" jobbie has a bent shaft and is now useless for anything other than rough hogging work (which it is actually quite good at!) Not worth fixing. However iI now have a couple of old Elu routers so its going to have to go to the tip soon as I need the space.

If it wobbles then replacing the bearings might do the trick.

Hi,

I have replaced the bearings in a router with out special tools, I could have used a bearing puller to get the top bearing off, but I cut it with a dremel.
