buying tools because they look usefull ?

just wondering how many of u have bought tools that look useful, but you don't really need or have a use for ,, i just bought 2 50inch guides from axminister but now i have them , i cannot really see me using them ,

I think many of the upmarket tools, although obviously they work well, are cosmetically designed to attract the collector as much as the user.

That's about 99.999% of the contents of Axminster and other catalogues!!
I try and make it a rule never to buy anything until I am definitely desperate. I still get caught out with stuff I don't want. Usually goes back on ebay.
