This burr bowl which i've had finished for some time now,had a small lump of burr fall out right on the rim.
The rim was straight across running parallel.
So having remounted it decided to alter the shape of the rim to turn the gap left out,and i think it has made the bowl look better.
The whole bowl was re-sanded and re-finished with wax to match the clean new cut of the rim.
Not sure of the wood as i had it given to me but thought it was red mallee burr, but someone suggested it might be Jarrah??
Sizes are 7-1/4" x 2/3/4"

That's a busy piece of whatever it is Paul, glad it was stable enough to be able to remount and work.

It has turned out really well. I revisited some of my first turnings from last year in green pear wood. they get very shiny now the rough turned wood has dried for a year.

Thanks for the comments :D
Chas- it was surprisingly flat still so had no trouble doing what i did with it,which makes a change :D
