Are there any 3rd party router lifts compatible with this router? It's something of a special case because of it's idiotic on-off switch placement (on the bases, nothing on the motor itself).

I have the precursor to the GMF-1600 (the GMF-1400CE) and I bought a load of extra sub-bases from the US for it to make jigs - one went onto my Axminster router lift. The 1400 had the power switch on the motor though which makes it simpler.

However, it appears (from https://www.bosch-professional.com/gb/e ... 89918-t/p4 ) that you can buy sub-bases for the GMF-1600 as well.

I found an eBay listing for the bases here:

A fair bit more expensive than the 1400 bases though. I'd think you'd need to remove the handles and rewire the switch somehow, which it now occurs to me is probably the original problem!

I have the GMF and so have both bases and I don't like it one bit as far as a router lift goes but it's sadly all i have. And now it has started messing with me and I can't use the fine adjustment anymore to adjust it upwards, only downwards.

I would rather use it as a hand held router with the fixed base. I was hoping for some 3rd party router lift that could work with the bosch limitation that is the power switch idiocy.

I have a much better home built lift that I cannot use either because of the switch business. I have looked into buying the switch and making my own adapter, but bosch says it's not available from their spare parts website.
