Blum clip top hinge loading for wardrobe doors

Hi there,

I'm wanting to build a set of wardrobe doors that are full 2400mm in height by 700mm wide. Has anyone got any suggestions as to how many hinges I need per door? I'm assuming that a chipboard based sheet will be the least dense and best option?

I would say at least 5 hinges, scroll down this link for suggested number of hinges versus height and weight of doors.

I'd go minimum of 6 if you're going to use Blum soft close hinges. 2400 X 750 is going to be heavy

Thanks. I have stock of them already so was going to use them. Are there any other choices of more robust hinges? I was looking at the SOSS range but the minimum door thickness is 28mm and I was hoping to use standard 18mm sheet goods.

Maybe get the Blum heavy duty hinges that use a 40mm hole instead of 35
