Binh Pho - sad news

I was sad to learn of the passing of one of the great artistic wood turners, Binh Pho.

His work really opened my eyes to the possibilities of turning and I was very fortunate to have a piece he did only a couple of months ago that I will treasure all the more now.

A sad loss - rest in peace Binh.

That is very sad indeed.
Although I am not always a great fan of excessively decorated wood, he was without doubt an absolute master of the craft.
Our world is a lesser place for his passing.

His work was in a world that I could never ever aspire to on the craftsman stakes, in artistic vision, skill and patience at manipulating wood as a carrier for his visions.
Lets hope their are many others with the calling that have taken on his mantle.
