bandsaw blade length?

just a quickie - want to order some new blades for my bandsaw refurb - but how do i measure accurately the correct blade length.

Probably really dumb question!

I considered cutting through an old blade and measuring the straight out length - is this correct?

Well thats as good as any way
but otherwise
D x pi + 2 x centres of bandwheels

where D = diameter of bandwheel

this is for any 2 wheel bandsaw for 3 wheel

D x pi + each centre ( 3 off)

Yep. But most bandsaws have the blade length marked on them somewhere. Look for a plate on the back somewhere, possibly by the motor.

The other way is just to wrap a tape measure round the wheels as if it were a blade.
