Bandsaw accuracy

I noticed my bandsaw blade was wandering
I was convinced the blade was sharp and fairly new, could not see any set up problems.

Anyway I got out my box of spares from Ian.
First thing it turns out (I wrote on the box) I fitted the current blade nearly 2 years ago!
Lesson 1 : don't rely on your memory.
Fitted the new blade (must have taken less than 15 minutes!) and the machine is transformed.
Lesson 2: you compensate for a worn blade as it slowly creeps up on you.

This sequence of events has happened every time I have problems with the BS :roll:
Lesson 3: learn your lesson from previous experiences and don't be damn lazy.

My bandsaw doesn't get used much but I go through exactly the same experience every 6 months or so. Blade wandering and thinking what the hell is the matter with this machine. Then feeling the blade and realizing it's blunt - fit new blade and it cuts like a dream.

They tend to wear to one side, as well. For veneers etc. it's good to keep a perfect blade.
