I made this shoe rack about 4 years ago
I got the idea from some Utube video. It is covered in a product called Marmoleum which I put on with contact cement and then was edged with the cherry all attached with what seemed at the time of the glue up like a million dominos. Putting a backing material on the ply base never occurred to me, but it doesn't seem to have warped at all.
The ply I used might have something to do with it, it was bought at a local wood recycling centre and did I believe come from a recording studio and was used for shelving there, beautiful I" ply the likes of which I haven't seen since
