Hi All

Need a new mitre saw and like the idea of an induction motor. I have been looking at the Axminster QMS2541. Does anyone have one or an opinion good or bad? It appears that the arms for the sliding head don't protrude from the rear, is this so? Its hard to tell in any of the pictures I can find, likewise for the EB/Metabo KGS301 to which it bears an uncanny resemblance. Does anyone know how closely related they are and if its worth spending the extra £150 or so on the Electra Beckhum model
Thanks in advance.

Richard

hi my bother inlaw has an axminster saw not sure of the model but that seems to be good bit of kit for the money. i have the dewalt 708 that is the muts nuts best machine i have bought

The Axminster is a Far eastern copy of the EB machine. PErsonally I would spend the extra cash and go for the EB as it has been around for around 20 years & is well proven.
Really depends on your budget though.
