hi guys
My bandsaw will not start just buzzes ,found the problem its the motor run capacitor melted  ..
Contacted Axmister today but they cant find the black box on the side of the motor where the cable block & capacitor are !!!!
Anyone knows where I can find one ?
Can find some others, but the Volts are lower (425-475v) ,which ive installed & it starts & runs very slow & buzzes all the time !!!!
These are the details of the capacitor

Manghe cbb60 10uf+5 SH
400v-500v AC50/60HZ
25/70/21Po C
EN60252-1
Any help or views would be great as shame to throw this out for a £10 part !!!!!!!!!!!!

Do the Bandsaw drive wheels rotate freely with or without the motor drive belt tensioned? ---- Checking that you do not have a wheel bearing seized with sawdust contamination. *

Does the motor spin freely with and without power applied without drive belt connected?

* Capacitor might have failed if there was excessive motor supply current due to stiff bearings and continued buzzing might be because of excessive load on motor.

Then the start/run circuit is not complete, does the motor have a centrifugal switch for higher torque starting or is it just a simple start/run capacitor always in circuit type?

You do have a Run Rated capacitor for the replacement?

start/run capacitor run rated got from motor rewind company...
The only difference is the Volts
Original 400-500v
New 425-475V
Slight buzzing when running & motor slow without anything connected to it at all ...

Youre kidding, right? you pull the blade to get the thing to run?
How many fingers have you got left?

with a capacitor the important number is the micro fararads. Thats the number in front of the little greek m ( a U with a tail on the left) and small f.
You MUST match that number to the original to make the motor work properly.

Assuming all connections are sound and correct, I'm afraid without inspection with appropriate test meters there is little anyone can advise other than take it to the motor rewind factors for them to sort it out.

Could well be faulty windings, although not a common fault these days it could be why the capacitor failed or caused by the failure if the windings suffered excessive heat.
