ATX power supply fans

I'm trying to convert an ATX power supply into a benchtop power unit for electrolysis and stuff.
Can anyone tell me, does the fan cool the ATX unit down by drawing warm air out of it or does it blow room temp air into it?
I feel as if I ought to know, but I don't.

Stupid question, but can you not just fire it up and feel the burn?

Not a stupid q, but stupidly I left the kettle lead behind when I cadged the ATX unit itself. I must have a lead somewhere but...

Bear in mind you'll have to short the switch pins as ATX supplies won't power on without it.
