Yeah and you don't hold a chisel in a textbook single-orientation way anyway in the real world. I can think of a few chiselling operations where in only five minutes one must adopt a good half-dozen different grips!

I'm a big fan of octagonal handles (of a completely different type) and yes, you do want to make sure of the alignment on a chisel.

It's a much different story with a turnscrew, which is why I feel the Best London Pattern Octagonal handle is a better fit for them (in a working tool, as opposed to a toolbox queen).
