just a post to highlight how good these seemingly rustic tools are. I have a job making drying racks from 20mm dowel and straight uprights. simple right drill 20mm holes insert dowel simple. of course each dowel is about 20mm and not necessarily round even. also I could do with a shoulder and operating to stops( so the shoulders are identical. enter the 3/4 ashem rounders. these come with a plug that reduces the od that can centrally enter the rounders. so I turned an exotic hardwood plug with a rather generous 20mm hole through it. I will then set a stiddy up on the lathe to give the correct shoulder length. the rounder gives perfect sized tenons after a bit of fiddling of course.
