The seller is a general, not a specialist, dealer so he has no idea of their true value and is using the false equation old = valuable. He's asking 18 quid each for something that can be picked up at a boot for less than that - for the lot.

he might have caught wind of the 2 large sets of hollows and rounds that were sold recently and thought "these look similar"?

Agreed.

Then again, he does have a centre bead, which is quite unusual and might even fetch over £10 offered on its own (left hand side, second one down) and it's hard to put a price on the experience you would gain trying to replace the missing boxing on the bead at the bottom right hand side!

Read the description carefully for the 45 - it seems to be where the previous owner hid his stash!

So either a bargain or the sort of thing I thought you were not allowed to sell on eBay.

hahaha the hemp pot. this seller appears to be a goon. why wouldn't you look at the other auctions and see that odds and sods moulding planes are worth feck all

i thought i would be a good Samariian and help this seller avoid throwing good money after bad.

Do you have the missing pieces of boxing to fill the slots in the bottom of the planes?

And do they all have wedges and blades?

How dare you masquerade as someone who knows about tools when your ebay feedback score is only 79! Your ebay rating is the universally accepted measure of your your tooly knowledge, and I'm afraid you just don't cut the mustard chum.

Dave (ebay rating 222)

Have you seen he is on holiday spending his winnings until 27/07/2012 - business must be good!

Given that those prices are daylight robbery, it might be a short holiday at Her Majesty's pleasure!
