Never seen one like this before, I'm not surprised.

How do you get the wedge/iron out ?

Unscrew it ? What a palava.

Maybe it started out with a super tight mouth, made or ordered by a high end luthier.

ps Please don't put sticky labels on old tools, often leaves a sticky residue or a clean bit.
 
It looks to me like the screwed bit of wood acts as the cross "pin/bridge", ie it goes in front of the wedge, and it's not the wedge itself.

I'd expect the wedge and blade would come out by the usual tapping method.

Better than finding an otherwise immaculate woodie, 100 years old, with the price written in thick permanent marker. :cry:
