First time posting,
I need some advice about an electric rebate planer.
I want to make some drawers using rebate joints or rabbet joints if some people call them that.
Can a rebate planer make cuts from 3mm in width to say 3/4"wide in one pass?
So the drawers will have for example,
3mm slot all round near the base of the wood and the sides for example will have an 18mm slot rebate.
I understand that the blade can be altered on depth but I'm not sure how they work on the width, if they have a dial to open or close the width of the blade, or do rebate planes only adjust on depth?

I think you'll find that most planers have a blade the width of the base of the planer and that the 'rebate' can only be made on the edge of a piece of timber. i.e. the blade goes to the edge of the plane and there is a fence/guide or stop on the base to adjust the width of the rebate like the pic below.

A router with a suitable bit and fence (and maybe a table if your doing lots) will do what you require and probably be a lot more useful in the workshop.
