XY, that was a dammed silly youtube topost! I have just spent the last hour listening to/watching one of my favourite guitarists! Throughly enjoyed it too!

We went to see him at the Zenith, Toulouse curtosy of the chief sound eng for the tour. Ab fab don't come into it, but the sound eng said that he is very difficult to work with, because he stops playing at times to listen to another member of the band when they are playing a difficult bit. Apparently he doe that because he loves to listen to very good musicians.

Fantactic guy to see live! Thank you for the reminder..

Strange Jonzjob that is exactly how I came across this song. The power of You Tube eh? I'm pleased I am not the only one with trouble leaving it alone once hooked.

+1

Oh what a lovely little internet meander via UKWorkshop - great place with some great people!

I agree, nice find and also nice to see the fab John McCusker playing violin on it.

I've just begun to digitise some of my LPs after 20 years of being in the cupboard. First one to be MP3ed was Brothers in Arms - Ah the memories. I can still play perfect air guitar to tunes I've not heard for 20 years. Doing the live album, Alchemy, as I speak.

Nice to see MK doing something different.

cheers

Why I am so often the only dissenting voice on a subject I'm not sure.

I found this song to be simplistic, boring and musically unexiting in the extreme with very twee lyrics. Kark Knopfler is one of my favourite guitarists but this one left me cold. Maybe I just don't like waltztime. Oom pah pah......

Having said that, I do thank you for the link. Monteleone is obviously a great guitar maker and I found that digging around bought up some really interesting stuff about him.

One of my favourite programs is MacTubes (obviously not for PC users but I expect there is an equivalent). Do a simple search and it scans uTube and lists them all in one place. Downloads easily too. Great way to discover stuff new and rediscover old to add to the ridiculously huge music collection that I could never listen to in three lifetimes.
