Well I had a weeks holiday this last week so I got on with my card table project (2 photos below of that) and my 7 year old daughter completed her first ever project.

First my daughters, a picture frame in American white oak finished in Liberon finishing oil and beeswax polish.

Secondly 2 pictures of my card table in the before finish state, back at work tomorrow so might be another week until a fully finished picture is available.

I've been trying to make an Oak picture frame for nearly 7 years now, still not finished.I may be asking her for help
:)

That's an ingenious folding design. I'm guessing that you nearly close the stand, so the pegs are wider apart than the top diameter, put the top on, then open the stand to a square, bringing the four pegs in closer to catch the top. Is that right?

It's actually a copy of a 1920's table so no credit to me for the design. Two of the legs have a small spring section at the top which each give about three mil of movement allowing the table top in, the top itself is veneered and finished one side and baize on the other for cards.
