14th Century beams

Staying in a 14th Century cottage in Suffolk for the weekend and was intrigued by the markings on the beams. Anyone got any insights?

Also the beam over the fireplace looks like it was reused, not sure from what, also anyone got any ideas?

Given the location could easily have been parts from ships or Thames barges.
