    Anyone used these at all

The first thing that comes to mind from me looking at the ebay images is that to double the width from 560mm to 1120mm you would have to remove the bracket on the left hand side. On the Jet, that side is clear of obstructions so its easy to do the other half.

Any recommends for power take off vacumes?

I have two Festools and a Karcher model that I had before the Festools. The Karcher one was about £85 on offer and it has a good capacity, works well and the suction is great, the only downside is that there is no facility to turn the suction down (although this can be done by making an air hole...

    Ryob1 tools

I have 11x 4.0Ah, 1x 2.5Ah and 1x 1.5Ah and I keep them in a pair of 6 bank One+ battery/conditioners. To date I have not had any issues with them as the conditioners cycle through them once a week and discharge and then recharge them again. I have to try to remember of swap the odd one in/out...

    Festool Domino

You could use a domino machine to make the hole and then square the ends if so inclined.

    Axminster - Festool open day

If its anything like the two I have been to at Axminster then they are a great day out and well worth the pittance they charge. Not heard of James Billington though, the two I attended were done by Phil Beckley.

    Festool ac vac question

The CTM36AC would be a poor choice for a woodworking vac, it is designed for use when sanding plaster, as are all of the Auto Clean Festool Vacs. If you are planning on using it in a mobile fashion you may find the CT36 too big, if using in a shop, not so. Price wise you would be better off with...

    Festool ac vac question

If you have purchased an Festool AC Vacuum, this is designed specifically for fine dust particularly that from sanding plaster or similar materials. All Festool Vacuums are designed to use the dust bag (whether it be the paper type or the long life type) in normal use. Failure to use the dust...

8" x 3" ULTEX Double sided Diamond Bench Stones from ITS

I've had mine for ages now, well over a year, and I am so pleased with them, I recently bought a second set to put away for a rainy day (300/600 and 1000/1200). I do use a 16000 Shapton Ceramic for final polishing, but they are sharp enough really without the final polish. No apparent loss of...

Has anyone had success using Hammerite (hammered) on Wood?

Thanks Erik, I primed the wood with Acrylic undercoat/primer earlier this morning and in about half an hour will give it a go with the Hammerite. If it doesn't work I can always build another :(

Has anyone had success using Hammerite (hammered) on Wood?

Thanks for the reply, I have read elsewhere that its advisable to use a primer coat of water based acrylic, did you do this or did you put it straight onto the bare wood?

Has anyone had success using Hammerite (hammered) on Wood?

Hi all, I have made a couple of flight cases from Birch Ply and have painted the inside with matt black blackboard paint, but I would like a black glossy hardwearing finish and do like the look of Hammerite hammered gloss (and I have a litre of it on-hand). Will it work okay on Birch ply...

Fein Supercut v Festool Vecturo (or a Multimaster?)

I tried out the Festool Vecturo yesterday, I have an old Fein Multimaster and a Ryobi Cordless. The Vecturo with the plunge base is very accurate and in comparison with the others is very much more precise, and the vibration and noise is reduced compared to my other models. On the other hand...

Any advice for shipping to Europe?

Their prices look good until something goes wrong, then you find you have very little recourse whether you have the extra insurance or not. Just be aware you are dealing with a middleman and your courier may not deal with you direct if something goes amiss.

Daft Q.: the longest cut you've made with a plunge saw?

Apparently (we were discussing this today) Phil Beckley from Festool did 75 metres with a TSC55 on a single battery charge at Festool UKs headquarters.

Any advice for shipping to Europe?

I've shipped loads of stuff all around the world over the last few years. For Europe I tend to use either RM Airsure or RM International Signed for, for up to 2kg for Europe insured for £250 its about £20 if bought online (you still have to go to the PO to send it though).

Anyone going to the Festool Demo Day, Axminster,Devon 16th

Anyone going to the Festool Demo Day at Axminster Skill Centre, Devon. There are some new tools being released in the next couple of months which will be demo'd and I am keen to see, in particular the H.K85 which is a portable circular saw which accepts a grooving cutter block which allows the...

Help required to judge the pitch of a roof as an angle?

Sorry, missed this one in all the posts, yes there will be a set of double door and a window each side of them. there will also be a window in each of the sides, but the back will be just loglap! I was going to make the doors myself so was planning on them only being about 6ft or so with 6"...

Help required to judge the pitch of a roof as an angle?

Thanks again, that looks great, so if I take 1/2 of the side 4ft and make a right angle with the same dimension 4ft, square them both 16ft x2 add them together 32 and take the square root of that give me a hypotenuse of 5.65ft. If I multiply that by the length of the building 11ft I get 62.15...
