    Halifax Security alert

Now you e-mail address is out in the open (and it is unlikely it was something that happened only a few days ago), lots of spammers will start to get hold of it so you will get more and more spam, not only supposedly for banks, but also for medical supplies, gambling, stocks and shares, etc. You...

internet download product paint shop pro x1

Install it by downloading rather than installing off the web and then burn a copy of the downloaded install program to a CD together with a copy of your licence key as your backup. You can download a demo version anyway which I suspect will convert to a full version by inputting the licence...

    France

An update for those living in France. I've just received a new (first edition) printed mail-order catalogue from Metiers et passions which has been formed by the merger of a couple of companies. Much more "Axminster-like" in breadth of tools and materials on offer than any French catalogues...

    Cheap powertool extractor at lidl

The same vac is on sale here in France where mains circuits are 16A. The tool socket rating is 2200W. That is probably the reason for the reference to 2200W on the Lidl site.

Making a cone from 160mm PVC pipe?

You just about answered it yourself. 6" diameter circumference = 18.84" 2" diameter circumference = 6.28" So you need to cut out a total of 12.56" out of the circumference at the narrow end. If you want to do it in four equal isosceles "triangles", they each need to be 3.14" around the...

    Byrons Official Workshop Build Thread

Is that timber treated? It doesn't look as though it is tanalised nor does it look as though you've given in any "creosote". I'd get as much rot-proofing treatment soaked into it as you can if you've got a few days waiting for the cladding - despite the other precautions.

    Byrons Official Workshop Build Thread

You'll regret it! Those timbers need to be higher off the ground (on lintels or bricks!!), with the possibility of water running past them in all directions as well being protected from ground water by a damp-proof layer of some sort. Given the higher ground around, water will run down...

    bench joiners

According to the description of the Bosch ADV 82 Thicknessing Attachment on the Axminster web site: "The planer is mounted on top of the attachment as shown in the picture for thicknessing and upside down in the attachment when surface planing. A parallel and angle guide can be fitted to the...

    Stair Repairs

I wasn't suggesting they had direct replacements but possible designs that might satisfy your requirements. It possibly isn't that clear from the illustrations on the website, but if you go to the Kenngott site and select Wooden stairs you get several illustrations. Hover over the KENNGOTT...

    Stair Repairs

A couple of web sites that may give you some ideas of legal stair designs in France http://www.escaland.com/ http://www.kenngott.de/english/2stairs/index.html - they have stairs wall-supported on one side only. As far as I am aware, there is no regulation concerning the need for risers to stop...
