Superb film, especially the "finals" before final landing, thanks for posting.

Don't want to sound churlish, but what's a world record about it do you know blackrodd? Is it the fact that the Eagle landed back with his handler?

Can't be the height of the building, at "only" 2,700 feet.

I don't know about eagles but there have often been cases of big birds such as Canadian Geese being seen from aircraft (and sometimes causing bird strikes) at heights 20,000 ft and more.

(BTW, talking of bird strikes, did you know that the A340 airliner is known in the trade as the only jet aircraft that can get a bird strike from behind - because it cruises so slowly? That's an old "in" joke I just suddenly remembered, sorry, thread drift).

But again, wonderful film, thanks.

AES, I'm not sure of the date but the record appears to be the White tailed Eagle flight from the then tallest building
at 2722 feet, and according to wikipedia, still recorded as the highest building.
If you know when this tallest building record at 2722 feet was broken, and by what,
Personally, I'm not too fussed about the tallest building, More about watching the Eagle and camera work,
And when he got his head down to swoop, fascinating.
Regards Rodders

PS New record for the highest building will be next year in india.

Ah OK, understood, the record is about the building height, not the height that the eagle is flying from, thanks.

But just as you say, the video is fantastic, and when the eagle spots his handler and the landing ground, then the film (and the flying) is really brilliant. Thanks.

When the eagle spotted his handler, it was still very high up. Just goes to show how good the eyes of the eagle ree and how they can spot small animals in the wild. Impressive film. Thanks for that.
