The trouble with those sliding doors is you lose the use of one wall... That's why I went for a roller door - the only space it takes up open or closed is immediately up above the door.

I made the doors myself, trawling back through my hazy memory the hardware was £150-200, timber around £150 (all softwood) and £80 on Osmo finishing stuff (I went uber on the finishing, to make up for the pine).

The door themself are basic stuff, pegged mortise and tenon frame with TG&V clench nailed on the front. The one hanging door has a brace going from the mid rail (is that a muntin??) to the bottom rail - your trad frame ledge & brace. I expect to get at least 10 years out of them, by which time I may of finished the hardwood replacements :duno:
