Im aware of some of the available workshop air filtration devices (Jet, Record Power, Microclene etc.)
But I was just wondering if it is possible to make a diy version using a purpose made box with a 230v industrial extractor fan (10"-12"?) and dust filter/s?
Am I being naïve or is this a realistic idea as it would be cheaper for me to make one than buy a purpose built one?

I was about to start down the same route and was following some tips on this thread workshop-air-filter-t72222.html when I followed a link to some SIP T1000 badged Microclene 780 clones on Ebay(Microclone?) - I've not seen them around in a while, but at ~£30 it made building my own not worthwhile.

Thanks for replies guys.
I did do a quick post search but obviously didn't filter through them enough to find the relevant posts.
I missed out on the ebay SIP filters last time. :(

All done.
Made mainly from bits and pieces of mdf and timber I had knocking about.
Bought a used 14" 140 watt industrial extractor fan from Ebay and a 16" x 16" filter.
Seems to work ok.
