I brought an old workmate and decided to make a stand with casters on so I can wheel it under my bench.
The problem is it has 4 spring loaded legs that you can fold under but if I could remove these legs I would have a tray for the odd tool.
I turn the workmate upside down and can see on each leg there is a 3 inch bar that has a thread at one end, if I could remove this bar/rod it would release the leg.
My problem is it wont budge, I have only tried pliers so far, has anyone removed the legs and how ?

I've just been and had a look at mine - a WM536. The metal rods are plain, but fit tightly into a hole in the plastic spring clip which keeps the legs folded back. Tapping on one end with a small hammer will drive them out. Yours sounds similar but slightly different - but a bit of gentle tapping might be in order.
