Wood identification help please.

Hi, I was given some wood which was believed to be mahogany due to the finish applied, but after cutting it up I'm not so sure, could anyone help me identify it please. The 1st pic is UN finished, the 2nd is with a few coats of tru-oil.

Did it feel slightly oily when worked? It might be teak or iroko.
