My computer has a really annoying problem with the media player. When viewing video some of it is fine however other clips are distorted. The best wat I can describe it is a pink and green negative similar to an Andy Warhol painting. I'm sure it is just a setting problem or is it? Can any one assist.

hi I had a similar problem a few years ago when watching dvd's it was down to the inbuilt graphics card which only had 32mb of memory so bought a new graphics card with better memory 256mb then all was fine

No sorry thats not the problem. I'm running a 256mb graphics card. Has anyone any other suggestions?

Possibly a codec issue. Check the version of the codec you need for the clip.

I had the same problem a while back - I think as MR says it was codecs - it all started working properly after I upgraded it to the latest version (10) which I think you can do via the Custom button under Microsoft Update.
