Hamlet , crown or Sorby?
What do you guys suggest
How useful is the tool support ?

the brand doesn't make allot of difference they all need slight modifications to work well

the arm rest is like marmite- i personally have one but prefer not to use it.

From memory I think the Crown ones are HC steel and the Sorby ones are HSS and therefore hold their edge better (although they are not difficult to sharpen anyway!)

I was looking into these beasties and it was recommended that I buy a set of Ray Iles 16 tpi chasers as they are about the best according to a mate who has tried them all and even tried to make his own.

decided to go for the hamlet ones - nice rounded edges in M2 steel

havin tried them I can see me finding the rest useful as well.
