In case no one's tried, I used some Rustin's Plastic Coating thinned with IPA (alcohol, not pale ale ) as I couldn't find the correct stuff - it set perfectly well. I washed the bush out quickly, ditched the IPA and replaced it with some fresh and left it for a week to see if the brush set - it didn't, and washed out perfectly. This was only on a small piece of turnery and I wouldn't try it on a table top or anything large, but It's good to have an option for brush cleaning.

I use cellulose thinner for cleaning all brushes from solvent based paint. At £20 for a 20l it's as cheap as chips & it will remove any kind of paint. If the brushes are being stored away they get a wash in soap & water before being left to dry. Pure bristle brushes sometimes get a quick soak in hair conditioner to make them supple.
