Hi all
A friend asked me for some advice on a basic scroll saw but their budget is £100. I did go though the motions of you get what you pay for etc etc etc but all they are going to use it for is cutting intricate shapes for jewellery out of wood and small shapes with name in them. They wont be using it all the time and can't really afford anything more than £100. 2 I have seen are the record ss16v and the Axy hobby series awfs16. I thought if the saw does go belly up then they would have good after sales support.
They require pin less blades and variable speed.
I told them I would put the question out to the wider and more knowledgeable scroller community

2nd hand Delta. There's one on Fleabay right now.

I'll second that!

I had a Record scrollsaw (model before the SS16V) and the tension mechanism packed up.

Naz kindly bailed me out with an "alternative" spare.

But....

He also suggested that I look for a Delta, and I got exactly that same model as the one currently on eBay and haven't looked back. It really has changed my working.

Have a look, if I'm looking at the same one as Naz, the current bid is £65

Regards

Phill

Yep, that's the same one. The 'Quickset' blade change is superb and you can't lose the blade clamps <cough> Hegner<cough>
