whats that smell?

Well i thought id clean up this old shoulder plane i've got.

The wedge looks nasty so i'll start with that.

Found a bit of rosewood and put a face and edge on it then bandsawed a strip off

Planed it down to thickness

A nice sliding fit.

Then shaped it with a coping saw, disc sander and bobbin sander, finishing of with hand papers.

And here it is, quick coat of oil, not to bad, just got to do the rest of the plane now......

Hi,

Very nice planes! the shoulder and that Record 4 1/2 stayset. I have a 4 1/2 stay set with out the SS cap iron but with Rosewood handles.

I asked 'bout a screw for the frog on my no 7, i did have someone sending me one, but he couldn't find where he put them,

have you got one kicking about still?? i'll pay.
